DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for setting and implementing the HR strategy for the Charitable Games Division (currently Diamond Game, American Games, International Gamco and Integrity Bingo). The HR Director reports to HR leadership at Pollard Banknote head office, provides consultation to management on current/best practices related to the Division’s strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training & development, policy development and implementation, performance management, and succession planning. Additionally, this role will provide guidance and coaching to management on complex employee relations issues, including corrective action and is expected to take a leadership role in developing a positive workplace culture that is aligned to the business values and objectives of the Pollard Banknote Limited group of companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, direct and manage a company-wide process of organizational development that address issues such as succession planning, superior workforce attraction and development, key employee retention
  • Develop an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance
  • Lead and support compliance with all existing governmental and labor reporting requirements including any related to Equal Opportunity (EE0), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), THE Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Develop and administer programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company, and company’s vision and values
  • Establish departmental and organizational measures that support the accomplishment of the HR and related business strategic goals
  • Promote safe, healthy and respectful culture and support attainment of company goals and employee satisfaction
  • Support and guide employee relations solutions, progressive discipline issues and investigations, interpretation and application of policies and procedures
  • Provide HR leadership and direction to divisional HR practitioners
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 10 years’ HR management experience in increasingly responsible roles; multi-location manufacturing or similar industry is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources and Labor Relations; SHRM certification is an asset
  • Experience leading and managing HR teams and overseeing HR functions as Performance Management, Succession Planning, Talent Management, Training, Employee Development, Employee Relations and HR metrics
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment legislation & requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in leading benefits analysis and recommendations
  • Experience in planning, developing, implementing, directing and evaluating the company’s human resource functions and performance
  • Ability to design and execute guiding principles and strategies related to Recruitment and Retention
  • Strong leadership skills, solid understanding of business metrics and strategic development, ability to influence the decision-making process
  • Proficiency and working knowledge with HRIS
  • Effective in delivering presentations and training to a variety of audience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications - Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to travel across USA and Canada
