SENIOR TERRITORY SALES MANAGER

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pollard Banknote is seeking a professional with strong relationship building skills for the Senior Territory Sales Manager position to work at the Arizona Lottery located in Tucson, Arizona.

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Senior Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional service to the Arizona Lottery's retail partners; including, delivering training on new game launches, effective merchandising of lottery products, and routinely analyzing retailer sales information and identifying opportunities to maximize sales within assigned retailers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain positive business partnerships with designated retailers.
  • Implement specific intensive sales techniques and retailer programs designed to increase awareness of Lottery products and achieve sales goals in designated high potential retailers.
  • Capture and maintain accurate retailer information in GemIntelligence software to assist with retailer sales analysis.
  • Report activities on a daily basis including telephone, e-mail or physical visits to retailer locations.
  • Analyze retailer sales reports to develop and implement specific programs/strategies to optimize sales.
  • Meet with retail management and owner teams to review and plan sales goals and objectives.
  • Provide regular and consistent feedback from retailers to Lottery Sales Management Team.
  • Plan and coordinate in-store activities to include Lottery and retailer-specific promotions/programs.
  • Plan and conduct regular retailer visits to introduce new game material, point-of-sale and training initiatives.
  • Train retail employees on new game launches, game enhancements, sales incentives, upcoming promotions and areas of opportunity to grow sales.
  • Develop and improve retailer inventory control procedures to reduce ticket out-of-stocks, cash shortages and theft.
  • Assist in the development and support of the strategic business plan for each assigned retailer.
  • Maintain, distribute and appropriately display all point-of-sale materials while meeting established deadlines.
  • Adapt to a flexible work schedule to provide quality customer service to the retailer network.
  • Install and replace Lottery ticket dispensers, and perform routine maintenance on Lottery terminals and equipment.
  • Perform various administrative, sales and customer service duties; answer customer, retailer and vendor inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Sell and redeem Lottery tickets at Claims store and at various promotional events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing or related disciplines. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, including effective sales and marketing practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices and the ability to provide clear and concise sales presentations at the retail level.
  • Experience developing and initiating promotional sales plans and programs, and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Experience in analyzing sales and market trends, make recommendations and develop improvements to increase sales.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in investigating and promptly resolve routine retailer issues and problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management level, other employees, vendors and the general public.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and knowledge of basic accounting procedures and applications as they relate to Lottery ticket sales at the retail level.
  • Ability to provide training to retailers regarding lottery products, changes and or enhancements in Lottery games and promotions.
  • Advanced negotiation techniques while maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Ability to independently complete on-going routine assignments accurately, respond quickly to a variety of situations and changing priorities, and meet deadlines within the expected time frame.
  • Understanding of and consistent adherence to Health & Safety, Quality and Security standards.
  • Knowledge of State laws, regulations and rules relevant to the Arizona Lottery, is an asset.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pollard Banknote is seeking highly driven, customer focused Customer Service Representative to work at the Arizona Lottery located in the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix Arizona, on a part-time basis.

Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative will perform a variety of tasks regarding customer, vendor, and retailer services. This position will interact with customers via telephone, in person, and through correspondence, by providing game information, policies and procedures, and rules and regulations. The incumbent will perform research and resolve various customer problems and complaints.

Due to the COVID-19 retractations, this position may be required to temporary telecommute.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interact in-person with customers by selling and redeeming tickets, answering questions, providing materials, and explaining processes and games
  • Handle phone inquiries including providing winning numbers, explaining games, mailing requested materials, etc.
  • Handle cash transactions and balancing; Prepare bank deposits; Perform daily bank reconciliations, fiscal transactions, and reconciliation reports
  • Prepare a variety of written correspondence
  • Prepare winner checks up to the designated amount
  • Perform data entry
  • Operate a computer, ticket terminals, calculator, and various office equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Prior experience handling cash transactions is required
  • Must be flexible for scheduling purposes, including night and weekend shifts
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential information
  • Basic computer skills required, along with prior data entry experience
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset
  • Understanding of and consistent adherence to Health & Safety, Quality and Security standards

NEW RETAILER SPECIALIST

THE OPPORTUNITY

Pollard Banknote is seeking a highly motivated New Retailer Specialist who will be responsible for growing Lottery revenue by identifying, recruiting, and developing new retailers in Arizona.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional with strong relationship building skills and a business development background, to support a variety of retailers in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, develop, and implement strategies to identify appropriate retailer recruitment initiatives
  • Conduct in-person meetings with potential Lottery retailers to solicit new business. Drive an automobile throughout assigned territory to recruit new retailers.
  • Utilize cold-calling best practices to solicit new business from prospective retailers
  • Research, recruit and develop new retailer prospects through established contacts and industry leads
  • Prepare presentations for a variety of potential lottery retailers
  • Develop opportunities for lottery ticket sales in a wide range of environments
  • Communicate with internal and external customers on new business developments
  • Maintain working knowledge of current and prospective new products and services of the Arizona Lottery to drive sales and increase net revenue
  • Perform work to strengthen the mission of the Lottery, which is to support Arizona programs for the public benefit by maximizing net revenue in a responsible manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing or related disciplines. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales or business development, utilizing effective selling practices, excellent negotiating skills, and marketing principles
  • Ability to independently conduct sales analyses to identify new business opportunities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques, multiple product portfolio sales, sales promotions, advertising, and display methods
  • Excellent communication skills that include the ability to organize and present information both orally and in writing to both internal and external clients
  • Ability to demonstrate superior customer service skills by maintaining a pleasant and professional manner while communicating with others in a timely manner
  • Ability to independently complete routine assignments accurately, and respond quickly to a variety of situations and changing priorities
  • Must exercise good judgment and make sound decisions affecting the operation of the Arizona Lottery, the sales department, and vendor functions
  • Experienced in establishing realistic recruiting goals to meet the expectations within the assigned time frame
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques used at retailer sites
