Systems Support Analyst

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Located in Sault Ste. Marie, and working as part of the Manufacturing Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the company’s production software applications and production systems. Reporting to the Manager of the Manufacturing Systems Group in Winnipeg, this position will be responsible for minimizing downtime and maximizing production levels through delivery of end user training and rapid / concise technical support. Additional responsibilities include monitoring the closed circuit T.V. (CCT), Card Access System and Alarm System.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the roll out, training and support of manufacturing software applications / systems
  • Troubleshoot and analyze manufacturing software / system failures
  • Provide feedback to the appropriate development group for existing manufacturing applications
  • Work with other departments to assist in ensuring software compatibility and data integrity with application in use
  • On call support for manufacturing software applications outside of regular business hours
  • Assist corporate IT with local system maintenance / upgrades
  • Monitoring the CCT System, Card Access and Alarm System
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of an associate degree in computer applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a technical role
  • Experience in an automated manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot issues and present solutions in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with users
  • Team oriented
  • Able to work after-hours on-call on a regular basis

PACKAGING LINE ASSISTANTS

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This position is responsible for quality assurance inspection, packaging, and boxing finished product. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset. You will also have basic computer skills, and the capability of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for long periods of time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for checking of all printed product for errors, printing problems, or irregularities
  • Responsible for loading work onto conveyor belts/roller lines sequential order off work pallets
  • Ensure quality of the printed product is in line with customer expectations
  • Required to rotate positions on a production line
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Will be cross-trained on all other positions within Manufacturing Finishing and will provide coverage and support as required
  • Ensure accuracy of printed product
  • Report any discrepancies that are presented on printed product
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Experience in a light manufacturing environment with focus on quality control is an asset
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs

MATERIAL COORDINATOR

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This full time position is responsible for quality assurance inspection, packaging, and boxing finished product. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset. You will also have basic computer skills, superior organizational skills and the capability of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for long periods of time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Wrap finished skids for shipment
  • Stack and strap finished wrapped skids
  • Assist with the staging of product
  • Retrieve WIP skids and other supplies that are on skids for production lines
  • Load outbound Trucks/Containers
  • Unload inbound Trucks
  • Count and inventory all inbound product/supplies
  • Put all inbound WIP/supplies in designated areas once received
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Grade 12 diploma

PROCESS TECHNICIAN INTERN

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Process Technician Intern assists with the organization and optimization of work flow, equipment, and procedures for productivity, efficiency and safety. The incumbent assists with organizing and interfacing with contactors for completing projects (full scope); keeping time, cost, labor and resources in mind.

Candidates must be University or College graduates who have graduated in the last three years from an accredited university or College. Candidates must be graduates of postsecondary degree or diploma programs. This position will provide the intern with their FIRST time employment in their field of study.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the coordination & supervision of internal and external resources for providing equipment for various projects. Reviews the work plans and CAD drawings to ensure proper scope of work is being provided in a timely manner and in the best cost effective way. Including modifications to current operations, relocation of equipment/process flow, constructing new equipment and ensuring proper utility supplies e.g. chill/domestic water, compressed air, electrical, natural gas, sanitary/storm lines
  • Assists with the development, maintenance, and amending of plant CAD layout for equipment, procedures, and work flow for both current and future operations
  • Assist with designing equipment/procedures/prototypes to improve operations/production speeds, lean manufacturing operations and ensure a safe work environment is maintained. (meeting standards from OSHA,NFPA and ANSI) Including putting together CAD drawing packages for the effected systems
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • Electrical Engineering Technician - Process Automation; Electrical Engineering Technician - Process Automation and Trades; Electrical Engineering Technology - Process Automation
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Problem solving for both simple and complex systems
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • High skill level with Microsoft Office software
  • High level of math competency required (calculus and differential equations)

  • Read & interpret information, analyze data and calculate quantities

HUMAN RESOURCES, HEALTH & SAFETY AND SECURITY OFFICER INTERN

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This intern will be responsible for providing support and assistance with wide range of administrative duties relating to Health and Safety, Human Resources and Security functions.   • Perform task related security functions (access cards system, intrusion alarms, CCTV, security back ground checks, key control access) and when mandated, ensure they are carried out under the direction or oversight of Director, Corporate Security or designate; accurately complete and maintain security related records and forms; communicate security related protocols, including revisions of and implement as directed by Corporate Security; act as contact person for any scheduled or non-scheduled plant security related events; communicate security matters including systems malfunctions to both, facility management and Director, Corporate Security or designate
  • Maintain Contractor file, ensuring relevant records are accurately completed and documentation pertinent to the established program is received; the plant’s MSDS system, ensuring continuous compliance with the applicable legislated requirements
  • Logs employment applications; coordinates with department supervisors and initiates contacts with applicants regarding interviews; assists with new employee orientation process; conducts employment reference checks, and initiates criminal background checks
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education, preferable in the discipline of Quality, Health & Safety or Human Resources

SUPERVISOR, FINISHING

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This position is responsible for the day-to-day running of production and finishing processes within the manufacturing operations. This includes, but not limited to: scheduling of shipments, organizing and monitoring work flow, planning and organizing staff shift schedule and tasks, monitoring product quality, supplies and incoming/outgoing product, motivating and developing the team, managing/assisting PACE.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to ensure quality, efficiency and timely product deliveries
  • Assist with the staffing, work distribution, and performance management of assigned personnel
  • Monitor and maintain supplies inventory to ensure availability
  • Compile data, generate and deliver production related reports
  • Adhere to all established policies and procedures with respect to operations, health & safety, and security
  • Supervises the daily activity of Finishing employees, shipping / receiving
  • Receives direction from the Production Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma; Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in a related field an asset
  • Prior supervisory or similar leadership experience in printing or similar manufacturing. Lean Manufacturing experience is an asset
