VISUAL PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

The Opportunity:

This position will support the visual presentation and written communications needs of the various projects undertaken by the Business Development team. PRESS ASSISTANT

We are currently seeking four (4) full time permanent Press Assistants to join our Manufacturing Team. The Press Assistant is required to work in a variety of different areas within the pressroom and on a number of different presses and equipment, as required.

CONDITION MONITORING TECHNICIAN

The Opportunity:

We are looking for someone to be responsible for providing ongoing condition monitoring support on a variety of print production equipment and building systems to support day to day operations of the plant. This includes performing subjective and quantifiable measuring, routine preventative maintenance tasks and input of measures taken into a computerized maintenance management system. The successful candidate will also lead a maintenance team in Root Cause Problem Solving and Failure Analysis Mode to reduce repeating equipment failures.

Anticipated shift will be Monday to Friday with occasional overtime and/or weekend requirements. From time to time infrequent travel to other PBL facilities in Canada and USA may be required to assist in equipment installs or repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper performance and operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for production
  • Perform objective monitoring for machine condition using quantifiable measures such as oil and vibration analysis and thermography reporting
  • Perform subjective monitoring by the Look, Listen and Feel method
  • Minimize production downtime by completing equipment monitoring and preventive maintenance inspections
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship quality are delivered to prevent manufacturing equipment breakdowns

SECURITY OFFICER - PERMANENT CASUAL

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently recruiting for casual Security Officers for permanent casual employment. Hours of work will include Saturday and/or Sundays from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am and on call as required to cover vacations and/or leaves – both scheduled and not scheduled. .

As a member of Corporate Security, the successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing policies and procedures relative to the safety and security of company property and personnel, monitoring building entrances and exits as well as building grounds, reporting violations, fire, accident, theft and vandalism and assisting with the various day to day security issues for the Winnipeg plant. 

NOTE: Training to take place over the course of 3 – 4 weeks and will require 2 – 3 days/nights of availability each week. Regular shifts following the successful completion of training will be permanent, casual shifts, averaging a minimum of 12 hours bi-weekly. Ongoing availability to work casual night shifts is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor building entrances and exits, conduct regular and lengthy security check patrols and respond to security and safety incidents
  • Ensure all security processes are followed and integrity is maintained
  • View and document activity of security tapes/key scans, issue daily security logs and security reports

INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC

THE OPPORTUNITY

Working within our two automated print production facilities, this permanent full-time position is responsible for providing mechanical maintenance support on a variety of print production equipment and building systems to support day to day operations of the plant. This includes performing preventative maintenance tasks, diagnostic and troubleshooting services, responding to emergency breakdowns and completing accurate work order data entry/documentation. This position at times may also perform project work on an as needed basis for new installations and customizations on existing equipment to improve manufacturing efficiencies.

The position requires an individual who is able to meet the requirements for physical demanding work, is flexible to work various shifts and available for overtime and/or on call duty as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

DIRECTOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President Information Technology, the Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) will be responsible for maintenance and evolution of the PMO at Pollard Banknote. The PMO will manage a multitude of projects related to our Manufacturing, Engineering, Game Management & Design, Digital Solutions, and Information Technology areas from inception to completion. As an experienced project management professional and leader, the incumbent will actively manage a portfolio of projects, while providing mentorship and advice to PM professionals and will build on a solid reputation of project delivery, professional development and continuous improvement of PMO practices, standards and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the evolution and maturation of the PMO ensuring best practices and standards are established and upheld
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery including scope, risk, changes, issues, scheduling, cost, quality and communication
  • Effective oversight of multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion, involving senior business customers, IT Services and vendors
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Project Management methodology and, Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and Organizational Change Management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Assist and mentor project management professionals, as needed, to successfully deliver assigned projects as well as those acting as a project manager within the functional areas

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education combined with project management, (e.g. PMP designation) and active participation in the Project Management Institute, will be considered assets
  • Agile certifications (Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)) and Organizational Change Management (OCM) methods like PROSCI-ADKAR, will be considered assets
  • Experience as a senior project manager with proven program management experience in an environment characterized by business initiatives, manufacturing and/or engineering projects, system integration, packaged solution implementations, infrastructure deployment and custom software development projects
  • Proficiency in the use of project management tools, industry best practices and processes (e.g. Microsoft Project, PMBOK, Smartsheet, SharePoint)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively coach and mentor
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering large/complex solutions on-time and on-budget that meet stakeholders’ quality expectations
  • Experience creating and delivering polished presentations on complex issues to senior executives
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective relationships with sponsors and key project stakeholders and influence without direct authority
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

Programmer Analyst

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This role offers a unique technical opportunity to work within a talented software project team. As a member of our Game Generation Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating software programs to generate random data for scratch tickets and for the development of complex applications for the production of high security lottery products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and test game applications/scripts to program lottery ticket games that meet customer and game specification requirements and delivery deadlines
  • Analyze data generated by software to ensure accurate randomization of data to meet all security requirements
  • Ensure all new software development has its own architecture while fitting into the departments overall software architecture
  • Ensure programs and Game Gen support applications remain in an operational state; maintain base codes and process bug fixes
  • Create technical game documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in application development preferably within Unix environments
  • Working knowledge of C and C++
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both with a project team and independently
