SENIOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pollard Banknote is looking to expand their portfolio into digital products and have launched multiple initiatives around digital product development. As a result, the Digital Solutions team is looking for a Senior Application Developer to join their growing team. If you decide to come on board you will be responsible for implementing software solutions to support existing applications and upcoming projects, with a specific focus on research and development initiatives based on creative thinking and innovation. These include feature/capability analysis, functional and non-functional requirements, market analysis, as well as the analysis of tools and frameworks to create new products and enhance existing products.

You will develop, configure, and test software to manage solutions for PBL customers and internal stakeholders. The development will be utilizing new and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, etc. Other responsibilities include management, and support of websites, mobile applications, and other applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver fully functional and tested software solutions that meet all business and customer requirements and project deadlines
  • Experiment with emerging technologies to support application development/enhancement efforts
  • Recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify, assess and solve complex business problems in the digital space, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Create new solutions for changing customer requirements that are within Company policies and procedures
  • Develop, test, manage and support websites, mobile applications, second chance draws and other applications; perform quality assurance testing on developed applications
  • Set up automated processes to deliver accurate and meaningful analytical data reports for clients and Marketing departments to evaluate of product performance
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide technical assistance as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of related education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology
  • At least 5 years of Experience in modern web application technologies, including Apache, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS, AJAX and JavaScript
  • Experience in multiplatform, distributed applications and Object-Oriented Programming Principles, as Java, C++ and C#
  • Progressive technical knowledge and knowledge of best practices in software solutions service delivery such as SDLC, PMBOK, and Agile Development
  • Knowledge of public cloud like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, GCP, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both with a project team, clients, vendors, as well as independently
  • Ability to learn new programming environments and high technical aptitude
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills. Proven ability to identify, evaluate and recommend how a solution will best meet its functional and quality requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing initiatives to meet deadlines
  • Experience in mobile app development, responsive web design, User Experience and User Interface, and/or deep understanding of Apple App Store and Google Play Store guidelines design, are all significant assets
  • Experience in Linux and Apache server administration would be an asset

ACCOUNT COORDINATOR

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, results-oriented Professional to join our Sales & Marketing Team, working out of the Winnipeg Head Office. Programmer Analyst

Working in a highly-secure environment, our Game Development department is fast-paced, team-oriented and offers valuable mentoring opportunities with the brightest leaders in the business. Work with a variety of clients on a wide range of diverse short-term projects and build your skill set through algorithm development, random number generators, statistical data analysis, internal auditing and game generation.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This role offers a unique technical opportunity to work within a talented software project team. As a member of our Game Generation Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating software programs to generate random data for scratch tickets and for the development of complex applications for the production of high security lottery products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and test game applications/scripts to program lottery ticket games that meet customer and game specification requirements and delivery deadlines
  • Analyze data generated by software to ensure accurate randomization of data to meet all security requirements
  • Ensure all new software development has its own architecture while fitting into the departments overall software architecture
  • Ensure programs and Game Gen support applications remain in an operational state; maintain base codes and process bug fixes
  • Create technical game documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in application development preferably within Unix environments
  • Working knowledge of C and C++
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both with a project team and independently
  • Ability to use logic and an analytical approach to problem solving

MANAGER SALES, DIGITAL SOLUTIONS

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pollard Banknote is currently in the process of expanding our portfolio of digital products and has launched multiple initiatives around digital product development. As a result, we have a great opportunity for the right candidate in a segment of our business positioned for significant growth. We’re looking for a Manager Sales, Digital Solutions to drive sales of digital products and services, including game apps, omnichannel solutions, and CRM tools and to work collaboratively with the implementation team to insure overall customer satisfaction with our digital products.

In addition, you will develop and implement sales plans and strategies to increase our digital sales and identify opportunities for growth within the digital space.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the digital sales process internally and with our clients, including the determination of project scope, pricing, and implementation strategies
  • Develop, plan and implement sales strategies that generate long-term business value, growth and competitive advantage of digital products and services in accordance with budget expectations
  • Translate our clients’ business initiatives and strategies to solutions with strong business justifications
  • Understand and clarify product details, service specifications and benefits to the client
  • Manage the technical proposal process and ensure that all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate, properly defined and detailed
  • Become known as an industry leader in your area of expertise and impact our clients’ ability to envision potential solutions by designing strategies through a digital lens
  • Nurture client relationships and understand key parameters of client contracts. Ensure contractual obligations are met by all departments and the customer
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations, pricing proposals and bid opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales as well as experience developing sales plans and tactics for new products
  • At least 3 years’ experience in selling software solutions, technology products or SaaS, including post- and pre -sales activities, and solid understanding of the software sales process
  • Ability to recognize the needs of the client, utilize a consultative sales approach and provide detailed information about the technical specifications offered
  • Completion of post-secondary education in the field of Computer Science, Business, Sales, Marketing or other related area
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills including the ability to prepare and present effective sales presentations
  • Demonstrated financial acumen - knowledge of the principles and practices of budgets, RFPS, contracts and pricing methods
  • Advanced contract negotiation techniques while maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Developed imagination, vision and diplomacy to build consensus with all stakeholders, as well as demonstrated conflict and problem resolution capabilities
