FINISHING (MANUFACTURING) SUPERVISOR

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pollard Banknote is seeking dedicated leader who is passionate about developing and inspiring a team to join our Finishing department.

The Finishing department in our Winnipeg manufacturing facility consists of multiple automated, semi-automated and manual production lines. The Finishing Supervisor will lead a team of approx. 60 staff ensuring effective leadership, training and mentorship for the Wednesday to Friday night shift. This role is also responsible to meet health and safety requirements, quality standards, productions targets, shipment deadlines and other customer deliverables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promotes health and safety and safe work practices
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to employees
  • Manage finished product though the department meeting production and shipment deadlines ensuring high quality and accurate quantities
  • Plan and organize workload, employee assignments, costing and scheduling to maximize uptime and minimize waste
  • Maintain and improve overall operation and efficiency of all production related equipment and processes, engage Lead Hands, Line Leads and others in improvement activities removing roadblocks and solving more complex problems
  • Supports and develops direct reports through the Performance Management system and other activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Related post-secondary education and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership skills and experience with employee relations best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and Access
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to encourage, support and motivate team members to share ideas, knowledge, solutions and concerns
  • Previous experience in a Bindery or Finishing department as asset
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and related tools as definite asset

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

MATERIAL COORDINATOR

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This full-time permanent position works within the Shipping/Receiving Department and is responsible for the coordination and movement of supplies, product and material between shipping and receiving, production and finishing departments to ensure availability to support the manufacturing process.

Initial shift will be scheduled for Sunday to Tuesday Days, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure materials, supplies and work in progress tickets are continuously transferred between departments to support the flow of production
  • Ensure timely movement of product in and out of finishing to other departments
  • Organize, clean and manage the floor space within finishing and warehouse storage areas
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts and electric pallet jacks
  • Arrange the preapproved secure shredding of tickets, buttrolls and other waste product
  • Move and store shred bins, empty ink and waste barrels
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of High School or equivalent with 1-2 years previous Shipping/Receiving and/or Warehousing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and other tools
  • Ability to understand production processes and schedules to foresee material or supplies shortages
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting, push/pull up to 50 lbs on a daily basis

STAHL FOLDER LEAD

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Stahl Folder Lead is the senior operator and team leader on the Stahl Folder production team comprised of the following components; loading, de-curling, scoring, folding, gathering, banding, scanning, and stacking.

The position is responsible for leading the Stahl Folder team to safely process high volumes of lottery products in accordance with Pollard Banknote’s production targets and specifications for each game. The Stahl Folder Lead will monitor and oversee the health and safety, quality, production and staff for the area.

Initial shift will be scheduled for Wednesday to Friday Days, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize, guide and monitor the work of employees assigned to Stahl Folder ensuring that products are safely processed in accordance with game specifications
  • Ensure optimal equipment performance through proper set-up, troubleshooting issues, monitoring of regular operation and conducting preventative maintenance
  • Ensure production targets are met in a fast-paced environment
  • Train staff assigned to the Stahl Folder
  • Read and understand detailed game specifications and communicate requirements to the Stahl team
  • Ensure that Stahl team members perform their duties in a safe and ergonomically sound manner
  • Effectively communicate all relevant game-status details and running parameters to incoming shift

ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re looking for an experienced, forward thinking Enterprise Architect to join our growing organization! This role will be responsible for the architecture of Pollard digital products and services, establishing a formal architecture practice at Pollard and developing Pollard’s IT architecture capability in a hands-on leadership role.

In addition, this role will provide oversight for Pollard’s software development projects and ensure that new architectures conform with the company’s vision and objectives with respect to the development of new digital products and the evolution of existing products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the evolution and maintenance of Pollard’s enterprise architecture roadmap with respect to its portfolio of digital products and services
  • Establish an architecture governance process and an architecture capability within Pollard, producing the architectural artifacts required to support governance and achieve project and organizational goals
  • Oversee the solution architecture for individual products and services
  • Provide architectural consulting, analysis and advice to business leadership for strategic initiatives
  • Provide architectural support for existing Pollard clients and new bids/solutions
  • Conduct technology research to investigate and analyze IT technologies and trends, products and services
  • Produce architectural artifacts for projects and bids, as required
  • Act as the liaison for architecture activities completed by vendors building Pollard products and applications
  • Hands-on mentoring of Pollard architects and architects within partner organizations
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science coupled with certification in Enterprise Architecture (e.g TOGAF 9)
  • 12-15 years IT experience with part of that being in an Enterprise Architect Leadership role
  • Software development background in multiple technology environments is required
  • Hands on experience architecting multiple solutions in an environment with multiple technologies
  • Experience implementing enterprise applications with complex integration requirements
  • Experience implementing a service-oriented architecture, preferably API Management
  • Experience contributing to complex, technology-related RFPs
  • Use of modern development stacks when implementing solutions (Linux, Containerization, Microservices, Noe.js, React, etc.) in hybrid cloud environments is desired
  • Highly knowledgeable in architecture best practices and standards including an understanding of best practices within SDLC
  • Knowledgeable in Security principles and controls (NIST, ISO 27002)
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong solution conceptualization and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively coach, mentor and train employees
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and delivering large/complex solutions on-time and on-budget that meet the expectations of the stakeholders’
  • Solution Architect, AWS Solution Architect and Security (CISSP) certifications are considered an asset
